This story is based on the book of Hosea. In the Book of Hosea, God tells Hosea to marry a prostitute. He does, and throughout the book Gomer (the prostitute) continually leaves her husband by going out and being promiscous with other men. It’s a true story of unconditional love.
With that being said, Redeeming love has been a book that was continually recommended by a friend. And then a whole family. After about 6 months of being asked to read it, I finally asked for the copy so that I could read it. Now as you may know I’m NOT a book reader. I really dislike it. Starting with this book wasn’t easy, but at the same time was very easy. It’s not an easy story to read at least in the beginning. Half the time I want to jump into the book and show some of the guys a lesson, but then I have to realize myself, that it is only a book. Saddly though, what is in the book, happens in real life. This is what makes it tough.
This book really seems to be a favorite among the woman. It’s definitely not your typical Princess waiting in a castle waiting for her Prince to arrive….. or is it? Since I’m not really a book reader, I can’t exactly seeing myself reading this book a second time. Heck even the greatest books that I’ve read, I’ve never read a second time.
If you know nothing about the book of Hosea in the bible, or this book, and your a guy, I recommend you read it. If your heart doesn’t break for the woman in the story, then I really challenge your sincerity for humanity. If you are a woman, I recommend it, only because other woman recommend it.
I was in a conversation with a friend a while back stating that I don’t normally enjoy reading books like this, nor do i seek them out to read them. Granted she asked me what I thought of the book during the time some really bad stuff was happening. How can you ask someone if they like watching a car accident when they pull out a pregnant woman who has now been paralyzed from the neck down because of a drunk driver. It’s not easy not knowing the ending outcome if it is a good book. So this the writer is good at keeping the suspense. Yet at the same time, the story was already written so many years ago.
Finished Review is still to come.
